Computer Security and Forensics Training Programmes
Students wishing to develop their professional careers and gain up to date, relevant training using tools and techniques used by the experts in the Cyber Security and Forensics arena are advised to look into these training programmes.
These courses are recognised qualifications and stand alone in their own right but they can also be used as core modules for a Post Graduate Certificate, Post Graduate Diploma or Masters in Computer Security and Forensics awarded by the University of Bedfordshire.
All ICTTF members will receive a 10% discount on individual module fees
ICTTF Recommended Training Includes:

(CSIS) Computer Security Incident Specialist
This 4 day technical, highly practical course is designed to equip information security specialists with the knowledge and skills to deal effectively with incident response situations. It also gives investigators valuable insight into forensic acquisition under difficult circumstances. Delegates will be guided through a real-world style scenario featuring extensive “hands-on” learning throughout.
Delegates who successfully complete the exam included at the end of the training course will be awarded the Certified Security Incident Specialist (CSIS) qualification.
(CSTA) Certified Security Testing Associate
This 4-day ethical hacking training course is a hands-on journey into the hacking mindset, examining and practically applying the tools and techniques that hackers use to launch “infrastructure” attacks. Practical exercises reinforce theory as you experiment with a Windows 2008 domain (server and workstation) plus a Linux server. The course demonstrates hacking techniques - there’s no better way to understand attacks than by doing them yourself - but this is always done with defence in mind and countermeasures are discussed throughout. The course is therefore suited to system administrators, IT security officers and budding penetration testers.
Delegates
who successfully complete the exam included at the end of the training course will be awarded the Certified Security Testing Associate (CSTA) qualification. CSTA, along with CSTP, is an ideal preparation towards the CREST Registered Tester qualification.
University-accredited training. Authored by experts.
This 2-day web application ethical hacking course covers the fundamentals of the industry-recognised OWASP Top Ten – to quote OWASP: “the ten most critical web application security risks”. You will have access to a functional ASP.NET and PHP application through which theory is reinforced by way of practical exercises. The course demonstrates hacking techniques - there’s no better way to understand attacks than by doing them yourself - but this is always done with
defence in mind and countermeasures are taught throughout. Knowledge of, and protection against, the OWASP Top Ten is a core requirement of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard ( PCI DSS) and therefore CSTP is ideally suited to web developers and QSAs as well as IT security officers and budding penetration testers.
Delegates who successfully complete the exam included at the end will be awarded the CSTP qualification. Completion of CSTP satisfies the prerequisites for our CAST course (advanced web application security) and is an excellent foundation towards the CREST Registered Tester qualification, along with CSTA
This wireless security training course (2 days) – completely revised this year – gives delegates an understanding of:
Different types of 802.11i networks
How hackers bypass wireless security
Implementing wireless security measures
Wireless security training is vital when considering deployment of wireless LANs. As wireless grows in popularity and more security horror stories hit the headlines, the need to secure these networks has become ever greater. The course follows the evolution of wireless security, teaching the underlying principles so that delegates leave not only with an understanding of the current scene but also better prepared as the world of wireless inevitably changes. Hands-on exercises reinforce theory with practice, allowing delegates to see the methods work for themselves.
Delegates who successfully complete the exam included at the end of the training course will be awarded the Certified Wireless Security Analyst (CWSA) qualification.
On
this 3-day practical ISO 27001 course, you will learn the component parts of the standard, how to define and risk assess information assets in a way suitable to your organisation, and the essential requirements for obtaining ISO 27001 certification.
Delegates who successfully complete the exam included at the end of the training course will be awarded the Certified ISO 27001 Implementation Practitioner (CIIP) qualification.
On
this 3 day practical computer forensics training course, gain an understanding of static computer forensics analysis by learning about forensic principles, evidence continuity and methodology to employ when conducting a forensic investigation. Using practical case scenarios, you will be guided through the process of conducting a computer forensics investigation, and will learn the principles surrounding the collection of evidence, together with the forensic tools associated with forensic analysis.
Delegates who successfully complete the exam included at the end of the training course will be awarded the Certified Forensics Investigation Practitioner (CFIP)
On this 3 day practical training course, extend your knowledge beyond conventional static computer forensics analysis. You will be guided through the process of conducting malware analysis, from the principles surrounding the different analysis environments and our malware investigation methodology to investigating network activity stemming from malicious software infection.
Delegates who successfully complete the exam included at the end of the training course will be awarded the Certified Malware Investigator (CMI) qualification.
