(is it just me, or does these so called "anti piracy" organizations resemble blackmailers and thugs more than someone that is supposed to represent musicians?) hope the girl gets her laptop back undamaged.. and that the family sues these thugs. there is no excuse for this. none what so ever.  sure, piracy for a commercial business is bad. but someone stealing a computer from a child claiming they are "enforcing anti piracy laws"... that's stretching it too far. specially when they want the family to sign a document that they can never talk about it. that sounds more like blackmail and bribery than anything else.   less

Rental connection stick had something on it's thumb drive part which was flip flopping visible and not, and that someting made Windows laptop to go to state beyond recovery, restore, and other attempts to get it back to working state. Reinstall is something you don't want need to do on trip. Replacement stick was fine - on a MacBook Pro.
