In light of the privacy issue on Linkedin recently, I got a few emails asking for my opinion on using photographs in profiles on community sites.
So very briefly let’s consider why should you use a photo on your ICTTF profile or other community sites?
There can be fake profiles on community sites. A photograph can help show that you are real and helps establish credibility in the community. Why would you not display who you are? What are you afraid of? Not having a photograph means people may be suspicious of your profile. For your personal branding, a photograph is essential.
First impressions mean everything and often our first impression is a visual one.
Some members opt for using logos or graphics of some sort, each to their own it all helps “connect” us and have a visual reference to work with.
